For our office in Guangzhou, we are looking for a Legal Specialist
Job Introduction:
We are seeking an energetic, driven, and passionate individual to join the investigation and legal team. Reporting to the team lead, you will play a key role in investigating Intellectual Property rights infringement and assisting in bringing counterfeiters, fraudsters, diverters and illegal traders to justice. By doing so, you will be protecting the public from counterfeit and substandard goods and maintaining a fair and healthy market. This role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to work with local and overseas brand owners.
Main Responsibilities:
- Analyze, record, and share Intelligence reports with internal and external stakeholders and enforcement bodies
- Work with investigators and team mates to gather evidence to support cases and to identify suitable targets, making test purchases where necessary
- Coordinate the administrative raids with law enforcement authorities
- Coordinate litigations with vendor lawyers, from selecting the target, getting client’s approval, arranging for the formalities of documents needed, giving instruction to vendor lawyers, following up and updating the development of the litigation, helping with the communication between the lawyer and the client, to reporting the verdict and settling the invoice
- Drafting legal documents, agreements and other documentation, reviewing contracts and any other legal matters
- Provide advice on brand protection and Intellectual Property rights enforcement
- Ensure that all case information is recorded and tracked in our case management system
- Assist in preparing for company meeting at various levels
- Respond to law enforcement request for information in the region
- Establish and maintain relationships with key law enforcement personnel in the region
- Provide training to customs and law enforcement when needed
- Support Online Enforcement Work including Notice and Take Downs, Domain Name removals and other related work where necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in (IP) law
- A good command of English, both spoken and written
- Experience in brand protection, law enforcement, or investigation
- Experience in litigation administration or litigation support
- Experience of working effectively with external partners and vendors
- Good understanding of Intellectual Property rights
- Ability to produce written work, both in Chinese and English, to an excellent standard with a high attention to details
- Ability to develop and maintain key relationships internally and externally
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information
- Ability to effectively collaborate professionally with co-workers, and external partners
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to analyze, problem solve, organize and manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer and its applications, including Windows and Windows based applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
