Landmark ruling: Estonian Court accepts React’s damages claim!

 

On the 30th of November, the Tallinn County Court favourably ruled on React's damages claim in the ongoing case against Deepak Mehta. The Court calculated the total amount of damages based on the total sum of the price of the counterfeit goods, divided by Deepak Mehta's profit (margin), thereby taking into account that Deepak's infringing activities lasted for at least four years. This calculation resulted in React being awarded €106.000,41 in damages, which corresponds to the sum of (one of) the alternative calculation methods put forward by React.
