Israel is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as well as a signatory to various other international conventions and treaties.  Israel Customs Authorities have seen a significant increase in the number of cases and amount of seized goods in the last few years. REACT partners with the law firm of Schuman & co. to provider a wide range of services to members to both register trademarks and protect against counterfeiting and other IP infringement, including working closely with the Israel Customs Authorities and other enforcement channels.

Country Procedures

  • Customs application available
  • Customs application is valif for one year
  • Simplified procedure in some cases (also known as 'short form procedure'). For bigger cases a 'standard long procedure' is applicable
  • Customs will act ex officio
  • Deadline for response to Customs notification of detention is 3 days
  • Deadline for importer to respond to seizure is 30 days
  • Proof of knowledge of counterfeiting is required
  • Ex parte orders are not available
  • Interim injunctions, damages and costs are available
