    Topic 1: How the changing legal framework, platform cooperation, intelligence tools and analysis techniques contribute to more effective online to offline actions.

    Moderator: Katerina Vardalaki

     

    • OCEAN: React will shortly introduce its software to facilitate the online enforcement process which will include Ai Tools to identify suspected trade and traders, and hence O2O. External speakers from CapiSoft.
    • What are the relevant provisions in the DSA, and how to use those to obtain the necessary information for an offline investigation. Summary of pending litigations. Speaker: Xavier Koehoorn.
    • Intelligence processing, O2O: How we work, our results and what we expect in the near future from the introduction of the KYC concept in the DSA, the cooperation by platforms and our IT. Speaker: PJ Whyte.
    • How to build a case based on information available online so that it is understandable/relatable to prosecutors to take up the matter for prosecution and the perspective of the prosecutors – External speaker Sandra Gudaytite from Eurojust.

     

    Topic 2: Enforcement at the border can be improved despite the budget constraints of rights holders and law enforcement.

    • By analyzing customs enforcement results, routes, and trends, resources can be used more efficiently. Speakers: Global Customs React Team.
    • The customs recordal process should be simplified/automized; there are some positive national developments to mention in the EU, Vietnam, Thailand.. and also some obstacles! Speakers: Global Customs React Team.
    • The EU Customs Reform introduces new concepts for example on E-Commerce, an EU customs authority and an EU datahub. Which could provide more clarity about the imported products and the importers and exporters. Will this help identify fake products and will it determine more clearly the responsibilities for the consequences of counterfeit trade? Dutch Customs will explain the basic principles of the reform and the proposal for a new UCC. External speaker – Forra de Jong, Dutch Customs Enforcement Directorate.
    • What happens after the customs detention is equally important for a successful border enforcement: React’s efforts to charge the costs of storage and destruction on the responsible parties and our plans for cost efficiency in warehousing and sustainable processing of the fake products. Speaker: Ronald Brohm.
