Over 4500 illicit domain names seized for selling counterfeit products

React has been part of the Europol Platform for Experts (EPE) forum since February 2016. This forum was launched by Europol and is collaborative web platform for specialists in a variety of law enforcement areas.

As one of the experts, the React Online Enforcement Team has provided a list of domainnames offering counterfeit goods that was used as input for a joint global operation coordinated named 'IOS VII' (In Our Sites). This operation was coordinated and facilitated by IPC3, the US National  Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center and Interpol.

More than 4500 domain names that were illegally selling counterfeit products to consumers online have been seized as a result of this operation. Law enforcement authorities, anti-counterfeiting associations and brand owner representatives of from 27 countries participated in this action:

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, France, Macedonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Hong Kong, Peru, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States.
